Scott Johnson is principal of Southern Strategic Solutions, LLC of Marietta. He was appointed by Governor Brian Kemp to serve as the Chairman of the Georgia Council on Literacy. He also currently serves on the Georgia Student Finance Commission and the Board of Human Services, and he previously served as the 11th Congressional District representative on the State Board of Education. He is a graduate of Leadership Cobb and the Coverdell Leadership Institute. Johnson and his wife, Janet, reside in Cobb County. Mr. Johnson will share his perspective on the importance of Georgia becoming a leader in literacy education and how the Council is working toward that goal. You will have the chance to ask questions and share your perspectives on the critical role that science plays in literacy development.
