Supporting Excellent Science Teaching for Georgia

Patti Howell

President 2025-2026 GSTA

I am a 24 year veteran high school teacher. Having taught chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science, forensic science, earth science, and computer science, I see how these disciplines weave a big picture. It is important to me that students in Georgia also see big pictures.

My passion is science literacy. If my students can gain only one thing from my classes, I hope it will be the ability to make evidence-based decisions. I endeavor to empower students with the skills to find relevant data, explore ethics, and consider the consequences of their decisions.

I am excited to serve as President of GSTA! I encourage you to become involved. Science educators are driving forces in the challenge to create critical thinkers for our future.

Please contact me at president@georgiascienceteacher.org if I can help you.
