I’m Marwa Crisp, an 8th-grade science teacher with over a decade of experience in the classroom. I’m passionate about integrating Design Thinking principles to foster creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking among my students. As the sponsor of the Design Thinking Club at Dodgen Middle School, I guide students in approaching challenges in innovative and collaborative ways.

Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s in Instructional Design, Development, and Technology, alongside a Ph.D. in Science Education at the University of Georgia (UGA). My research focuses on empowering both students and teachers to think creatively and solve real-world problems using Design Thinking strategies. I also share my experiences at conferences such as GSTA and NSTA, advocating for inclusive science education.

I am an active member of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) and recently completed my three-year term on the NSTA Nominations Committee.

When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my family and traveling. I also enjoy the companionship of my Sheepadoodle, Loki, who brings endless joy to my life.
