I am excited to continue to serve as your high school representative for GSTA this year. I teach AP Biology and Human Anatomy and Physiology and I am developing an AP with WE Service program focused on Public Health at Greenbrier High School in Evans, Georgia. I am a 2025 Finalist for Georgia Teacher of the Year and I am eager to advocate for STEM and science education at the state level. I am an active member of NSTA, NABT, and the National Scaling Up for STEM Initiative. I am currently serving as a Vernier Trendsetter, as a CDC Science Ambassador Fellow, and as a 2025 Finalist for Ga for the PAEMST. Last year, I was named NABT's Outstanding Biology Teacher for Ga and I just received the NABT Genetics Education Award for 2025. I completed the GaDOE Teacher Policy Fellowship last year and will be serving as co-chair with 2025 GaTOTY Runner-UP and Elementary STEM educator, Alicia Reno, for the GSTA Advocacy Committee this year. I believe in community partnerships and I am working with the Georgia Cancer Center to provide opportunities for students and teachers. Innovation does not happen in isolation, so let's work together to promote innovative teaching practices and to unlock our students' creativity for their own innovative ideas to emerge! Please feel free to contact me about any of these programs and other ways I can support you in your classroom. |
